Slow is Nice; Snow ... Not so Much

We have snow again today.

Since the first snowfall on November 09,
it hasn't melted completely.

It keeps adding and then it rains. Then Snow comes again, and the cycle continues. Yet, they are predicting a green Christmas. Sigh!

It's the perfect weather to quilt.

Someone gave me this partially-quilted quilt.

what I received

I'm slowly trying to finish it. It will be given to a charity when done (it's not my style) but I still want to honor her work although I'm having a hard time matching her big stitches.

where I'm at

I'm tempted to play with Bonnie's mystery quilt (as I am every year). I would definitely change the colourway. Pink doesn't live here in abundance. Lol.

Hope you find time to have some fun.
Enjoy! ;^)

Oh my, so early for that much lasting snow. We've had one small accumulation of about 3", but that's long gone. Just dreary, gloomy and cold for the most part (western NY, near Rochester).
Good luck with the quilting on the "gift" quilt. I have a quilt, partially quilted by my best quilt buddy, who died last year. It's machine quilted, but she marked it with dark pencil and I'm not sure I can get the markings out when I'm done.
At least you can get lots of quilting done with that disagreeable weather.

Brrrr...it looks cold out there. Definitely quilting weather. Stay warm.

Although I know it means cold, your snow still looks pretty! Here in our part of Colorado we haven't had a single flake yet, which really late for us. There is something to be said for good quilting weather, though. So nice of you to finish the quilting on that pink one!

The snow does look so pretty and clean when it is like that.... well done with taking on the quilting, thats a fairly big effort!! Yes, I looked at Bonnies too but the amounts of fabric are more than I have in colourways so that was a quick decision for me!! thank goodness as I have too many things as it is!

Wonder how green would work for the pink? Scoop up some snow and put in freezer until Christmas!

Some little girl will be delighted to receive that pretty pink quilt. I love to hand quilt but lately my evening quilting mojo has left town. We've had snow a couple times too, then rain, then more snow. Lake effect snow predicted for the coming Thanksgiving weekend, hoping the weather forecast is wrong!

Ugh on snow. Down in the mid Atlantic area (ie around the DC area) we're suppose to have a very cold December -- I haven't heard about snow yet. We don't get as much snow as I remember getting as a kid living just a bit north. But, honestly, I'd be happy to send you any we might get! Bless you for hand stitching that quilt. (And, more blessings because it isn't even a color you like!)

Definitely a good time to quilt. Lovely of you to finish off that quilt - but looks like a lot of work! Always a nice time to plan though when you are hand quilting. xx

Good for you to finish someone else's partially-quilted project. I'm on the fence about the mystery. I've saving each week's installment. Our Nov. 11 snow was gone by the end of that week.

Your New quilt to finish, the colors tell me 1990 or there abouts. Someone will love it.

Pink doesn't live here in abundance either; but, I scrounged enough to start the Bonnie mystery and then my friends chipped in to give me more variety. They got.rid of scraps and I was able to cut pieces for the clues. A win all the way around. That snow looks pretty. . .but, I also know it means brrrrr!!!!!
