Today, I am working on the restoration of an older quilt which belongs to a co-worker.
Lots were done so far ...
some are pinned and ready to be stitched down.
An entire arch is waiting to be pinned next.
Then, when all this is done, I think I can move to the other end of the quilt ... and fix some more. :^D The thing is the more I look the more I find more pieces in need of some fixing and I never get to the other end of the quilt, lol.
Until next time ...
Slow stitching on a slow sunny day ... bliss!
;^)

A major project to take on...it is looking great!
What a task! Looking great -keep at it :-)
Looking good! Definitely a labor of love
This looks like a huge project...but it is looking really lovely so far...hugs, Julierose
Yes, one of the hazards of repairing one area is that it makes the surrounding areas look sadder by comparison... Good luck!
I agree about finding more and more places to repair. I'm working on a neighbors childhood quilt and keep finding more frayed spots than I saw at first. Good luck with your quilt; it looks so pretty so far.
thats a big project you are working on...
Hugz
Be careful you don't end up replacing the whole quilt and have nothing of the original left! lol xx
I don't know how you have the patience but I'm glad you are saving the quilt for your colleague.
How nice that you are mending a well-loved quilt.
Good luck in your effort of repairing/finishing this quilt......
Very kind to do this for someone else......
That is a huge task, but will be so valued by your friend. Good for you.
I don't think I would find the work a fun thing to do. How good of you to do that for your co-worker.
Hum, so you have some arcs to add and repairing others? On the arcs are you turning under the raw edges as you hand stitch it to the background? I have some old arcs and haven't figured out what to do with them. Maybe I should just needle turn appliqué them to a background. You are inspiring me to actually work on that project.
