Putting Yellow Away

It's time to put Yellow away and get the April colour out.

How did Yellow fair during March? Let's see.

Crumbs that didn't get finished along with 9 Patch blocks. Some 9 Patch are from last month that didn't get their picture taken.

Some crumbs blocks are done but not trimmed. As I'm taking pictures, I realized that I didn't do any Stained Glass block this month! 😲

I did work more with dark yellow - gold - than I usually do, so in an effort to get the colour well balanced in my RSC2025 quilt, I pull out the brightest yellows.

These are blocks 5, 6, and 7. Number 6 looks very orange-y but it's more golden in person. Three more blocks are cut and waiting by the sewing machine. More Yellow will be posted next week.

A new month also means a meeting with the girls from the Artisanat group. I was greeted with scrap bags. I'm so spoiled.

The pink piece is pretty big and it's flannelette with black cats. It was on the "Take Away" table. I also grab a light mint flannelette with leaves for Lucie. She was happy I did as most of the things on the table were gone by the time she got there.

Then I got these 3 bags. A lady was selling these big bags for $5 each. I grabbed two. At the end of the meeting, there were still a few left in her bin and she didn't want to bring them back home so, she was given them away. I did say I had enough already but she didn't believe me and tucked the one on the left under my arm. 😄 I love these ladies.

There's some beauties in there. But then again, there always is.

Was Angela inspired by this cat for the April's colour? Haha.

With all the time spent for the Table Scrap Challenge and the sorting of the scrap bags, I'm not sure I did so well in using up my yellow scraps. Let's compare the bags.

Looks like the yellow with pattern put some weight on but the others are slimmer. Yay! The 2 fat quarters were given away. They were of poor quality.

On to the Red. This is what I found ... so far.

Let the digging begin!

I hope you have as much fun as I do. Enjoy your week.

Now that I am exploring the world of EPP quilts, I am learning the value of scraps. Your blocks are all very pretty.

Congrats on the scrap infusion, Chantal, and using some of your YELLOW scraps, too. Have fun with RED this month! Although, I have to admit that it's going to be a real challenge to figure out something with RAIN in the mix.

You did great with yellow. Those bags will be fun to sort and play with. Always nice to have friends who are enablers!

You have some very generous friends, Chantal! Those scrap bags look like buried treasure to me. Digging around to find what you have for the new color of the month is the best kind of fun!

That’s a terrific set of sunshine and golden blocks. You’ve definitely scored with those scrap bags.

There never seems to be as much red as anything else but I am sure you have loads. xx

Eh bien, voilà encore de quoi jouer ! Quelle générosité, ton groupe est formidable. Les blocs jaunes et dorés sont beaux, amuses-toi bien avec les rouges !

Nice work on the yellow scraps! I struggle a bit with the gold ones. BTW, I have been thinking of you lately as I'm finding lots of SHIBs in my basement stash! Really, I had no idea there were so many lol. Have a good week!

Ha ha. . .I chuckled at your new found bags of scraps and at how your yellow with the pattern put on a little weight! I hope you find plenty of red in your scrap bags!
