I Can't Keep Up

Another week went by with nothing pushed under the needle. Sigh! No aqua sewn.

But I did sew a bit last weekend. Let's see what got done.

From the 120 blue squares, 100 of them were joined to little 4 Patch blocks.

They grew into Double 4 Patch units

They were joined to more Double 4 Patch units and then ...

They were 8 blue squares per units. The middle row is sewn with 17 blue squares. This means a single blue squares unit can be added to the beginning of the row, the middle or the end, depending where the same colour is too close together. That's where the 20 spare blocks will come in to play. I might, MIGHT, add some little 4 Patch paired with a darker blue square all around as a "border". I'll see what the quilt says once it is all assembled.

and some boring Rail Fence units. That's all.

Someone from my past showed up at the office this week. He was good to me and I liked him a lot. Due to mental illness, he had to close his business and didn't hear from him again. So, of course, I took the time to chat with him a bit and I was happy to see how well he is now. I heard myself say to him "If you don't take care of yourself, then who will?"

Friday, August 29, I went to bed at 8pm and woke up Saturday morning, at 7:30am. I think I need to listen to my own words and take care of myself, because if I don't, who will?

I'll take a break from Blogland for a while. This is not Goodbye, but a simple See you later, my friends. I hope you will all still be in Blogland when I come back.

Take care, stay safe. I love you all.  🧡💛💚💙💜💖

Your double 4 patches are so pretty! I love that blue that ties everything together. We all know there are times when you just can't do everything, Chantal. You take care of yourself, and, yes, I'll be here when you get back to blogging. Hugs! 🩷

Those double nine patch unites look awesome! Sounds like you are listening to what your body needs. Just because you are away from blogland, I hope you will still find time to push fabric under the needle. I will miss your posts and will keep you in my thoughts. Hugs!

It's very true that we need to take better care of ourselves. Seeing those blue squares come alive when added to the 4-patches - that is inspiring.

Hope it won’t be as long as my break, lol. I’m much more into simple patterns these days because they’re scrap busters that go along pretty quickly; so I’m really liking your four patch blocks. Take care til you come back! Sue at northwindsquilting

I love that quilt that is growing.... yes indeed you need to take care of yourself. For some reason we seem to make it a habit to add things to our lives, not all vital. I have recently dropped out of one of my 'groups' for the same reason. Take care, I will miss you heaps but I know our cyber friendship is still there...xx

Hi Chantal, such a pretty shade of blue in those blocks. You spoke such true words to your old friend...I joke that it is just me, myself and I, who are taking care of me, as it is very much me taking care of my elderly hubby. Rests, breaks, whatever you need to do, etc. are good. Take Care, J

Hi Chantel, I love these blocks. You are so right to be kind to yourself. Funny how some of us need to be reminded to do so. Meanwhile, you take care of you, Jocelyn here in Beckwith.
