Little Bits of Purple

The purple crumb bricks are done ...

... just need to trim them down to the right size.

Working on the last border of Quilt of the Century.

I don't sew the first two hexagons. I will sew the borders together with a mitered corner and then sew the corner hexagons down.

Also did a lot of masks, picture to come later as the masks are already being used.

Three of my four men are back at work. This means a lot more washing, disinfecting and laundry than usual. Therefore sewing is not a priority. I will get the hang of it all and when a routine is established, it will go faster and I might get more sewing done. The boys try real hard to follow the directions. At least, they don't forget their mask on the kitchen table in the morning (masks are mandatory everywhere you go now) or in the car at night. We'll get there, eventually! lol.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

;^)

What's the plan for those Crumb Bricks, Chantal? If memory serves, you are making them and deciding later. Is that right? Congrats on closing in on a completed quilt top!

Crumb blocks are always fun, in every color! It is definitely hard to figure out a routine these days - masks to be washed, sanitizing this, that, and the other thing - hang in there!

Good for you establishing a routine, ps: sometimes guys need rules! Lol Masks are not prevalent in our area! We still wear them, one is better than none! Right!

I love crumb blocks!! Can’t wait to see what you do with them!

Good for you and the guys for wearing masks. Laundry is what I’ve always called the biggest ball and chain of life, but masks don’t add any appreciable difference. Stay safe and enjoy the sewing time that you can eke out!

So good to have masks mandatory. Only indoors here sadly but in other parts of France - I suppose where there is more of the virus - they are mandatory outdoors in busy places. Great purple crumb blocks - I am thinking of going down that route next year - and the end is in sight on the hexie quilt! xx

I love your crumb blocks; the idea is a great one! What are you going to use them for?

Good thing almost everyone is back at work even if it does mean more washing.

I need to dig into my crumb boxes again. Do they ever disappear?

Purple crumbs--fabulous! And I can't wait to see the Quilt of the Century as a top, I know it will be amazing. New routines around here too, which can be stressful, but you're right, we'll all get there eventually. Have a good week!

Pretty purple crumbs. Quilt of the Century is coming along really well. New routines take a bit to get used to.... we are starting new routines this week as well with school. Hopefully things settle in after a week or two.

Keeping the family safe is a priority! Have you seen Karen's hexie diamond quilt? I like the diamonds much better than flowers. https://karensquilting.com/blog

I like your idea to make crumb blocks each month. I might have to copy. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

Good to the last crumb! And little by little, Quilt of the Century moves closer to done!
Hopefully you'll get your routine down soon and can squeeze in some soothing sewing!
