Scrap Attack January

I join Sarah at Confession of a Fabric Addict, in an effort to reduce and organize my scraps a little bit better in 2018.

My list of 12 things I want to do to feel in control get the impression that I manage my scraps are in these jars. I shook the bigger jar real good because I didn't want to get the last piece of paper I had put in. (Don't want to start with that one. :^P). The smaller jar is my back up plan, in case  I finish the first challenge before the end of the month (as if ...).

And POP! What did I get?

#4 - Finish the M&M quilt.

In the post of November 2016, I had this to say:

"As I was picking up fabrics tossed all around the sewing room in my frenzy of last week, I found my RSC 2016 project. Got the fabric out and started to look at the possibility of finishing this one. This year? Hmmm... /:^}"

Obviously it didn't get done. And I still don't know what to do about the borders. Small inner yellow followed by black? Or red with black? No borders? How much is left of the white fabric?
The block used in this quilt is Peace and Plenty

The hunt is on!  At the end of the month, I will let you know if I have made progress on this challenge or not.

You can join the Scrap Attack group at any month of the year. See this post from Sarah for more details. Thanks Sarah for the challenge.

Since this quilt was made with Angela's Rainbow Scrap Challenge, I am linking up with her this morning. I am sure some of her followers, who had seen this quilt grow, would like to see how its journey ends.

That is too cute! Do you have any of that rainbow fabric left? That would make a cute inner border....maybe. Good luck with your goals!

Definitely a border ... you must use the partying M&Ms. If you have pieces of the colored pinwheels -- how about making a multicolored border of about 1" fin or 1.5" infin. Then use your partiers. And if you don't have enough to make that your border all the way around, use the bottom section to finish the border. It is too, too cute. Someone is going to love this quilt!

Such a fun quilt Chantal - it does look like a party is going on. I do hope you get it done this month and then you can join in and celebrate too!

So cute and fun! Do you have enough of the partying M&M’s to make a header along the top of the quilt, even if you have to splice in strips of black or the colors to make it wide enough? Then you could just add bright colors along the sides and bottom (maybe piano keys) to get the finished size you want. Whatever you do, someone is going to love this quilt!

Love it. Definitely worth finishing. One of my friends used the glass jar and pieces of paper to small tasks she had been avoiding. She had great success with it. Claire aka knitnkwilt

I like it without a border. Just use black for binding and this gorgeous quilt will be done.

That is such a fun quilt, Chantal! I like the idea of the small yellow border followed by something else. But I know whatever you decide, it will be great!

Great idea with the jars....might try that! Ps I'd go with a thin fillet of red and black. But what ever you do it's an awesome quilt!

You're so close to the finish. You can do it!

Woohoo!! Almost there!
I would add borders, but then I would add borders to all quilts, so don't listen to me. (But if you were listening, a narrow bright inner border followed by a wider black/m&m border would be terrific!)

Good luck getting your quilt finished up this month. I like the idea of yellow then black, or red then black. I guess it all depends on what you have. Whatever the border, finished is the best kind of quilt.

Scrap Attack is going to be a fun way of having goals. All mine are UFOs. Better than starting new projects. Love your M&Ms quilt in progress. Tough when I you run out of special fabric. Good luck with a solution.

The jars are such a good idea; perhaps I should join in too! I’ve no ideas for your border, but if you still have enough of the rainbow fabric I’d use that for the binding, but then, I love stripey binding!

your quilt looks great- a small "stop" border would be great, followed by the happy M&Ms.
