This week, lots of purple sewing was made. Little bits were turned into 9 patch blocks as leader-enders...
Some scrap has little to work with, but I managed to cut some good pieces from this one.
A light purple stained glass and crumb block were added to the pile.
... I got a piece or two out of it but GOSH! I have to do something with this. Back in the drawer, it went.

The blue strings were at the bottom of the drawer. I don't remember cutting these bands. It is too narrow for binding, but it could be used as sashing.
Tiny triangles were discovered in a zip bag and they asked to be sewn. How can Dory say no? Lol.
I found 5 pieces of burlap in one corner of the sewing room and a large piece of ... some kind of fabric that is not cotton. They are heading to the second-hand store.
Well, Dory got tired of cutting 2" and playing with purple, so she made me sew these up.
I am hand-quilting the Ohio Star Shadow quilt. I've reached the first corner. Only three more corners to go! (I prefer saying 3 corners than 24 blocks!) Some points will be cut off by the binding on this one. Oh, well.

Good for you, starting a new job! I hope it turns out well, with lots of friendly (and helpful) colleagues.
Congratulations on landing a new job. Hopefully, it is something you will enjoy. Tough to compete with sewing time, but bills must get paid.
Confession - when my scrap bags just don't have what I need, I go through my stash and pull out what I do need from fabric that is too big for the scrap bags, but too small to use in a quilt. I tend to store small pieces with their "mother" fabric vs in the scrap bag.
Congrats on finding a job. Paying the bills is a good thing =). I need to start looking before mine goes away, but I keep dragging my feet. Sigh. You had a great time working with purple and so productive. Love that pile of scraps.... I could do that with a number of buckets in my sewing area, so it is nice to see piles in others houses as well. Have a great weekend and good luck with the transition.

Congratulations on your new job! You will have to fit your sewing into your evenings and days off! You have lots of little squares cut up now. I find they breed even when you sew lots of quilts with them!

Congratulations on getting some PURPLE sewing done and some decluttering done in the scrap drawer, Chantal!! How did you find time for some quilting, too? The BEST NEWS is that you found a job!!! I know it will be a big adjustment, but you will find a way to fit in some sewing time.
