My son played with his RC Jeep. The next morning, after a fresh layer of snow, the backyard looked quilted. The picture doesn't do it justice. It was really pretty. |
It took me a while to figure out who is the Ferris Wheel.
Pink HSTs ... of course! |
Then, it took some digging to find it.
More HSTs and a 9Patch because I haven't done one in so long. |
In my blog, I had changed the name of this quilt to Smile because it makes me smile. In the Excel worksheet where I keep track of my quilts, the name was not changed and I just couldn't remember what it looked like. There's no picture in Excel. But I found it so let's go!
Here's my beauty with the M&M fabric.
Can you believe this fabric is 21 years old this year? Old enough to drink. Oh! My! With all the trouble they've put me through the first time around (back in 2016), it could be disastrous if they don't start to drink before I am done quilting it, Haha! To read the adventure, see this post.
It needs a back and quilting. I'll try to finish it this month and if it gets bind, well, that will be a bonus.
Now, what to use for the back? It isn't a big quilt. 56 inches, almost square.
I still have a bit of the M&M fabric so I paired it with another star fabric.
Framed in yellow, it's not too bad. With all the pins in, it looks like it is already quilted but it's not. I'll try to start on it this weekend.
Unrelated to quilting but still very dear to my heart, I want to share this with you.
Have a great weekend!
;^)

Hi Chantal - Yes, the snow does look like it's been quilted. I'm curious to see your Ferris Wheel blocks when you get some put together - I've not seen a pattern by that name before. I hope you're having a great weekend.
I like your Smile/Ferris wheel quilt! and that M&M border is awesome!!! Tell your son - he is a quilter in the making! haha
lovely way to choose your UFO's to work on... the M'nM quilt is such fun.. no wonder it makes you smile...
Hugz
Love the tracks in the snow! Youe M&M quilt is fun, the Ferris wheel quilt looks amazing too. Looking forward to your finishes.
What a great way to make the RSC work for you, Chantal!! Best of luck on finishing up that UFO.
I remember seeing this fabric....probably here. Great quilt! Good luck with your goal.
I love that quilt! The bright pinwheels are so fun, paired with the M&M fabric. So glad you're getting it ready for a finish!
Coucou Chantal !! Je t'envoie tous mes meilleurs voeux pour cette nouvelle année en espérant qu'elle soit positive dans divers domaines ... allez, les bonnes résolutions sont là ! Je devrai faire pareil avec mes Ufo !!
Gros bisous :)
Just love the picture of the pets and the wonderful words.
A 21 year old UFO! Must feel good to cross that one off the list. I am sure we all have projects t they just happen to have the date on fabric.
Great idea to tag the UFO's with monthly colors...and work on finishing them up. I am trying NOT to begin any new projects and work on my own UFO's --of which there are way too many! Mostly they became UFO's because I faced a problem i couldn't solve!!
Anyway, you have lovely "quilted" snow there;)))
So far no snow here--just cold hugs, Julierose
Lovely quilting in the snow. Great M&M fabric and what a good idea to link your UFO's to the RSC colours. xx
Good luck with those feisty M&Ms! This is such a cute quilt, front and back. And great idea for finishing your UFOs along with the RSC!
Love your M&M quilt! The ferris wheel block idea looks interesting, looking forward to seeing how you go about constructing it. Not enough snow around here to make quilting designs or anything else, though we could go ice skating on our driveway.
En voyant la photo de neige je me suis dit la même chose : des motifs de quilting ! J'aime beaucoup tes petits blocs roses, vifs et colorés. Bravo pour le dos du quilt M&M's, bel assemblage !
Lovely pink blocks and I love the M&M fabric. Reminded me of my friend who made a Christmas tree skirt out of since she loved M&Ms. We certainly do believe our pets are angels, don't we? The photo made me smile.
Those M&Ms have been making me smile all through the making of this quilt! I'm glad you're going to be able to finish it up! Smile indeed!
