RSC and Ottawa Quilt Show Scrap Inspiration

For those of you who didn't know, I was at the Ottawa Quilt Show "Sew Full of Love" last weekend. I took many pictures of wonderful quilts. (See last three posts for more gorgeous quilts from the two quilt shows I attended.)

I spend a lot of time in front of this quilt. The moment I laid eyes on it, I thought RSC and Oh Scrap! I'm sure you do too.
Made with 2" squares, it is a parade of inspiration to use up our little pieces of scrap. Since each block has a different layout, I had to take some close-up pictures, right? :^D

Here we go. The upper blocks;

I like the second one in this picture AND not just because it is orange lol.  I like that the green lines are broken off. Simple but cute.

The purple one is hard to define so I will add that it is made of 4 patches in grey with a purple "sashing".

Here's the middle section.

and the bottom section

I thought it was a very neat idea and wanted to share with all my RSC and Oh Scrap! colleagues. Don't you feel like playing with your scraps now?   :^D

From my own sewing room, here is my GREEN Peace and Plenty block. It has the same fresh green colour as the young leaves in my maple trees.  Spring is here, at last!

Joining Angela at So Scrappy for the  Rainbow Scrap Challenge on Saturday.

and Cynthia at Quilting is More Fun than Housework for Oh Scrap! on Sunday.

Oh! One more thing. Julie from Julie K Quilts is calling quilters to make a Log Cabin Lunacy  and link up our progress every month. Care to join. See her beautiful Log Cabin quilts in this post and join us. I said many times I wouldn't start a new project but been wanting a log cabin quilt for sooooo long, I can't refuse. Beside, it'll be fun to do it with others. Win, win!

More of the quilt shows to come.

Until next time ....

You know I can never resist the lure of lunacy, so I'm in for the log cabins. (I can't believe I'm going to start ANOTHER new project...)
That quilt with all the squares is really interesting - though I giggled at her thinking that 2" finished squares are 'tiny'! 8)

What a great quilt - the sashing really helps to tie it all together. Pretty Peace and Plenty block. Good luck with the new project. xx

Je suis impatiente de voir ton Log ! Tu as bien fait de te lancer dans cette aventure ! Un Log est obligatoire dans la maison d'une quilteuse !

That was a really fun quilt to look at! I'm wondering how many little pieces she used up!

A person could do a whole year of scrap blocks this way... in the RSC color palettes... Oh dear, another project for the list!
