Sew Full of Love

Yesterday, I was at the R.A. Centre in Ottawa to see the Common Thread Quilt Guild (CTQG) quilt show called "Sew Full of Love". This was my first time at a quilt show (Can you believe that? First time!!) my expectations were high and I was not disappointed. There were actually two quilt shows wrapped into one. How's that for not being disappointed. Two shows = twice the amount of quilts to view. YEAH!!!

The first one (on the upper floor) was from Ottawa Modern Guild where the viewers were asked to vote for their favourite quilt. This proved to be a very tough decision for me to pick just one. Seriously? Just ONE??   So many quilts of all tastes and colours, so much talent and ......  have a look.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers viewing this.

The following pictures come from a quilt named My Newfoundland. It was absolutely stunning. There were teeny tiny little quilts in the corners and homes all around the center. The houses had laughters, words, maths or pictures in the windows to represents what was going on inside, I suppose.

This was the smallest quilt in this quilt.

A picture of the back. It was as beautiful as the front. I should have gotten more close up pictures of the houses. Sorry.

 Amish inspiration

Quilted by Krista Zaleski. She  blogs at Krista Quilts. She makes beautiful work and beautiful quilts too. The following pictures is one of hers.

As usual, my camera can't reproduce the colour purple properly. It was much better in person.

So many more to come but you'll have to wait for another post.

Until next time ...

Viewers choice is so hard. There's always at least 3 I would like to vote for.

Obviously I'm going through your posts backward in time. My goodness, what a spectacular bunch of quilts and quilt makers you have in Canada! There are some real show stoppers just in the collection you've shared with us. I think I'll stick with my humble scrap efforts but wow, what eye candy!
